My name is Matthew Ping. I am living in Chicago and going to school at the Art Institute. I have a brain riddled with memories, and experience. I am a Military Veteran and have been writing my entire life. I lived through sixteen months of war in Afghanistan. I am experiencing and writing about life from a slightly different view than most. I have a blog where I regularly post material. I draw a lot from writers like Hemingway, Bukowski, Murukami, Vonnegut, and Oe.

I also have a decent collection of short stories which I do not post on the blog. I'm in the middle of a novel reminiscent of Burroughs's Naked Lunch, and Thompson's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" only without the drugs.
